Blue Cross of India (BCI) was established in 1959 by Captain V. Sundaram in Madras.Blue Cross of India is one of India’s most recognised animal welfare organisations and the first of a new genre of organisations that looks after the welfare of all kinds of animals. Blue Cross of India is home to cattle, dogs, cats, birds and many creatures.Blue Cross of India activities include shelters, rehoming, adoption, hospitals & mobile dispensary, ambulance services, ABCs.
Dr. S. Chinny Krishna is the present Chairman of Blue Cross of India. At any point of time, there about 1500 animals like dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, cows, calves, buffaloes, horses, donkeys, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and some wild animals (brought by the Forest department for treatment) in the hospital cum shelter of Blue Cross of India. These animals are sheltered and fed with nutritious and balanced food everyday to enable speedy recovery from the illness and also medicines are used to treat them every day with several Veterinary doctors.
